Who We Are
AAUW is a nationwide, nonpartisan community that uses its influential network to disseminate information, raise awareness and effect change in women's issues. Since our first meeting of 17 women in 1881, AAUW has been breaking through educational barriers for women and girls. Now our 100,000 members provide networking, advocacy and action that contribute to a more promising future for women and girls.
Who Can Join
If you hold and associate or equivalent or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or univeristy, you can join AAUW as a member of one of our 1,000 branches; you would also belong to the national organization. If you are an undergraduate in a two- or four-year regionally accredited educational institution, you can join as a student affiliate of a branch.
